Any plan can become an adventure, if you let it.
Driving the dog to the park for a walk. Meeting a friend for a run, and heading in a different direction from last week. Getting a smoothie at that shop down the street that you’ve never been to. Going out (for takeout) somewhere new. Getting a beer with friends on a patio in the sun. Taking the long way home.
Our adventures have to start small these days – and it’s ok for them to stay small.
I still refuse to be anywhere public but in stores – briefly and masked – on patios, on roads or in hotel rooms. But my mental health needs me to get out and into the world, away from the home office. At least once a day. Making a plan that I can call an adventure. Taking the necessary – and yes, safe – steps to remind myself I’m not stuck.
Make a plan. Have an adventure.
