Love a strong hit of protein in a smoothie first thing in the morning. It’s nothing fancy, but protein is critical for muscle repair and recovery, plus it can help you feel more energized and satiated throughout the day. If you’re curious about collagen (which, like dietary supplements in general, is not normally FDA-approved) – consider trying it for a few weeks and see how it feels in your body. It’s definitely helped me notice better post-workout muscle recovery in my 30s. And if it doesn’t work for you, cut it out.

Recipe: Go-To Morning Protein Smoothie

For ~40g of protein

Ingredients

2 scoops Orgain creamy chocolate fudge protein powder (21g protein)

2 scoops Vital Proteins collagen peptides powder (18g protein)

1 frozen banana (1g protein)

1 handful crushed ice

Unsweetened vanilla almond milk (choose your thickness, 1g protein)

1 dash of cinnamon

A sprinkle of Good Dee’s sugar-free sprinkles (not sure about you, but extra sugar in the morning just gives me cravings all day)

Make It

Throw it all in a blender, sprinkle the sprinkles and you’re ready to roll into the rest of your day.
