I don’t practice yoga because I’m flexible – I practice despite the fact that I never was.

SO many people tell me they “wouldn’t be good” at yoga because they’re not flexible. That’s like saying you don’t work out because you’re not in shape.

The body can change. At age 20, I couldn’t touch my toes in a forward fold, or slide out into splits, or reach my ankles in a backbend. But I can at 30.

There’s so much our bodies can learn (and unlearn), adapt to and overcome. It just takes practice, patience, long, deep breaths – and taking the time to know yourself better.
